The black bag is a key item for a well put together, functional closet and is this week's focus for Wardrobe 101. A larger black bag with sleek stylings, like my bucket bag by Mansur Gavriel featured, is a perfect everyday bag that will elevate any look. A smaller bag with an adjustable strap like my Chanel is also a great option that can be worn four different ways. (With the strap on it's longest length over the shoulder or cross body for daytime looks, or with the straps doubled up on your shoulder or as a clutch for evening occasions.)
Selecting the right bag for you may very well be dictated by price as handbags are definitely an investment. The Mansure Gavriel is priced more moderately at $495 for the large size pictured here, while the Chanel carries a much heftier price tag. Look to Pour La Victoire or Rebecca Minkoff for styles similar to the Chanel at a more attainable price.
